We haven’t seen Sally Yeh’s concerts since her last show in 2005, and now she’s coming back and will have her “Intimately Yours Concert 2012” from September 22 to 24 for 3 nights in a row at the Hong Kong Coliseum. The firework at the event brightened the venue when Sally walked out… and she jokingly said “Ohh it’s quite dark back there and it’s kinda scary…” Sally told as her initial plan was to have the concert on September 30 at her 51st Birthday, but she didn’t manage to get the slot at HKG Coliseum because the next day would be the National Day. After the concerts in Hong Kong, Sally will also have her World Tours.

Wearing an elegant white dress to the press conference, Sally looks gorgeous and she cannot be fitter. During the press conference, Sally invited her two Latin Dance coaches to come onto stage to take photos with her while they were showcasing some poses of high difficulty for sure.

Sally smilingly said that there would be nothing special with the show actually; it would just be her singing and dancing, but there would be 10-minute performance of Latin Dancing for which she’d been practicing for since April. She especially invited two coaches from Russia to help her with dancing practice; out of the 2, Alexander was ranked the 24th Worldwide. Sally jokingly said that there’s no local dancers in Hong Kong who could raise her up, but these two Russian coaches can do it! But practice is never easy… Sally has fallen a few times already, sometimes she was whirled till she felt dizzy and her feet and waist nearly twisted! Asked if she would dance with Lam, Sally said Lam would feel dizzy even standing under the sun for a short while… As for whether she will invite Andy Lau to be a guest since Andy was known for being good at Latin? “Of course I’d love to invite Andy but he had just had his BB girl and I didn’t want to bother him much… probably you guys can help me invite him… it would be great if he can bring his BB too!”, Sally said.

Asked if she would dance with Lam, Sally said Lam would feel dizzy even standing under the sun for a short while. “Will Lam come out to sing then?” – “Let’s see what the Audiences want!” The next day would be Sally and Lam’s 16th Anniversary, but Sally said she’d arranged badminton game for that day, and she jokingly said she is not sure if Lam remembers it and she would test him by hinting about it and see whether he still remembers… “if he doesn’t, he would ‘lose point’”… Sally laughed and said… but Sally also gratefully said that Lam had been truly good to her… “He’s really good to me… quite honestly speaking, besides my mom and dad, I think Lam is the one who treated me the best… this Lam Sir”… Asked whether Lam would prepare gift or surprise for her for their anniversary, Sally said “It’s not likely… I haven’t gotten any gifts for many years… I tried to ask him about it one year, and he said, well… it’s Valentine every day.. so it’s not necessary! …

Sometimes we do have happy surprise every day… I will think about it too..” Yesterday Lam gave Sally the especially made drawing “Intimatelyours” to congrats her for the upcoming show… Sally said Lam always does this kind of “small artistic pursuit” of this sort at home… this time he put the double at the end of “intimately” and the beginning of “yours” together, which makes it very special. This can be a gift for the 16th anniversary gift too.

To prepare for the concerts, Sally took on the challenge to practice Latin dancing; for the 10 minutes performance, she’d been putting in so much efforts that at times she practiced too hard she nearly twisted her waist…

Sally confessed that there would be nothing “unique” for the show… all she wants to do is to give it her all to sing and dance, and all that she wishes is for the audiences to be happy. She even paid much to invite dancing coaches from Russia to teach her Latin Dance… so the audiences can get to enjoy some effect of “eye candy”… The dancers were invited to the press con too and together with them, Sally showcased some difficult dancing poses on stage… It’s truly not something easy, no wonder Sally said these practices can make her feel dizzy sometimes, and at times she nearly twisted her waist. As for why she had to invite dancers from abroad, Sally said it’s because local HKG dancers wouldn’t be able to raise her up, but these foreign dancers are strong enough to do so… but still, she had fallen for a few times during practice.

Asked if she would dance with Lam, Sally said Lam would feel dizzy even standing under the sun for a short while. “Will Lam come out to sing then?” – “Let’s see what the Audiences want!” “How about Alex? He said he wasn’t invited to sing at your show” – “Alex? My son .. Oh I didn’t learn how to sing his songs… but if the audiences want to see him… sure he can sing… it’s all up to what my audiences want… As long as they will be happy, I will be happy.”  Sally also said he would test Lam and see if he still remembers their anniversary… if not… Lam would “lose points”…

The press conference for Sally Yeh’s upcoming concerts of 3 nights from September 22-24 at the Hong Kong Coliseum was held yesterday on July 16th, 2012; world tours were also planned after Hong Kong shows. Sally said she’s practicing Latin dance to perform at her show… actually she’d started practicing since April already. She especially invited two dancing coaches from Russia. The dancers were invited to the press con too and together with them, Sally showcased some difficult dancing poses on stage…
Sally said frankly that “I’ve never learned to dance Latin before; this April I went to take some lessons together with Loletta… to be honest, I felt quite discouraged after just 1 lesson already… But I thought to myself, I really got to put in extra efforts for this show and get over these obstacles. Even though sometimes during practice I would fall, but I didn’t want to give up on it… thank goodness I got better at it gradually… hope by the time of my show I would be able to do a good performance for my audiences.”

It’s been 7 years since we last saw Sally’s concerts, and now she’s coming back and will have her “Intimately Yours Concert 2012” from September 22 to 24 for 3 nights in a row at the Hong Kong Coliseum. Yesterday, at 51 years old, Sally said she would “give it her all” for this show; even if it means being in “danger” of breaking her waist to confront the “challenge of Latin dance” that she’d never done before, Sally was willing to give all that she’d gotten as long as it would make her audiences happy. Today is Sally and Lam’s 16th anniversary; even though Lam didn’t show up at the press conference the yesterday, he especially made a special drawing to support her wife’s upcoming concerts, and this indeed filled Sally’s heart with sweetness.

At yesterday’s press con, Sally invited special guests including her music producer Hei, Hong Kong choreographer High King, World class Latin master Alexander and Dima, etc… Hei told us Sally is an artist who “completely knows what she wants for her own show”. Hei said:” There are very few singers who work like Sally; her show will be in September; but she in February she asked me to have meetings already, and she demanded to have the Demo done by March! It’s because of Sally’s urges and requests that we are done with the music production part for this show already.”

It has been 7 years since Sally last had her concerts in the Hong Kong Coliseum… She admitted frankly that “the pressure is huge.” – “Especially for the Latin dance part, I’m quite worried that my steps would be wrong, and I’m afraid I would fall when the dancers raise me up!” Upon the host’s request, Sally invited her two dancing coaches onto stage and showed this difficult “waist-bending” pose… “There’s no local dancers in HKG who can raise me up…” Sally jokingly said…

The next day (July 17th) would be Sally and Lam’s 16th anniversary. When asked how the two would celebrate, Sally surprised us by answering that “I’ve arranged badminton games with my friends that night… I will see if Lam would ask me out for dinner.. Probably we can just light 1 candle and have a simple candle light dinner, and then I can go to play badminton after that, haha!” Sally jokingly said Lam hadn’t prepared any “surprise” for her for so long, “he always said it’s Valentine every day, so we don’t need any gifts anymore at all… I would be happy to have Lam sing together with me at my show, but it’s all up too if my audiences would be enthusiastic to see him enough!”

Sally said Lam’s son and daughter would surely come to her show to support her; it seems the family of four live happily and harmoniously together. When the reporter told Sally Alex mentioned that he wasn’t invited to Sally’s show, Sally said “I would hit him when I go back! Probably I’m getting old and I didn’t get to remember lots of things… I would love to have Alex come onto stage to sing, but he would need to practice hard to sing my songs… cos I may ask him to come out at any time!” Sally also told us that after her Hong Kong show, she also has plans to have her world tours.
